Web 3.0 is a phrase coined by John Markoff of the New York Times in 2006. It consists of innumerable number of features like Personal Desktop, Remote Control, 4G, Semantic Web, Smarter Hardware, Surface PC, Internet Radio, and so on.
Henry’s Boss had followed all types of online marketing methods (SEO 1.0 for Web 1.0 and SEO 2.0 for Web 2.0) for bringing huge traffic to his website, suggested by Henry. Due to huge competition even in Web 2.0, the third decade of the Web (Web 3.0) has emerged and Henry wanted to implement even this new technological change.
Therefore, before implementing it, he researched about Web 3.0 in depth. The findings of his research were:
Web 1.0 was "read-only", Web 2.0 is "read-write", and Web 3.0 will be "read-write-execute and is als ocalled the "Internet of Services".
Web 3.0 follows the bottom-up approach and its first step is towards the emergence of "The Data Web" as structured data records are published to the Web in reusable and remotely queryable formats, such as XML, RDF, Website Parse Template and microformats.
Website parse templates will be used by Web 3.0 crawlers to get more precise information about web sites' structured content.
Web 3.0 is heading twards the 3 dimensional vision championed by the Web3D Consortium. It transforms web into a series of 3D spaces, taking the concept realised by Second Life further.
Web 3.0 should be a relief to many who are thoroughly fed up with the use of the term “Web 2.0” as it is -
1. Easier, cheaper, and more pervasive.
2. Always on, everywhere.
3. Controls our data
This vision of Web 3.0, your data moving with you and knowing where you are would mean for SEO, that SEO and web site design can be brought even more closer together. You need to always keep track of what kinds of devices your visitors would be using to view your information. If need arises, you might even have to build different sites for different devices.
Henry informed his boss about his research findings. His boss read the research findings of Web 3.0 and came to a conclusion that-
“In this kind of world, the basics of SEO would still be important (focusing the content, having lots of content, having lots of FRESH content, and making sure it’s useful). It may be even more important, because search agents will understand every word you write, in context and also understand every word your reviewers and consumers write too.
After all, the social aspects, interaction, and involvement that characterized Web 2.0 are not going to wash away with Web 3.0.”
