Google had figured out the exact problems of its users more closely and therefore more search options would be implemented. This set of features announced by Google is termed as Search Options. This Search Options solves the problem of a user’s very common query of “what to ask to get the desired information”. With Search Options you can search for the product’s name, apply the option to filter out anything.
Search Options Panel also helps in viewing results in newer ways. In one view only, you can view more information about each result, with images and text.
Google also worked on better understanding of any information that you get back from a search. For example, If you are searching for IMAX theatre to watch a 4D movie in your city, by querying in IMAX+city in Google Search, you get different IMAX theatres available in the city. Out of many IMAX theatres available in your city, how do you decide which theatre has the best features that you are looking for and where to go and watch the 4D movie comfortably?
To avoid all the above problems that any user faces, Google calls the set of information returning with a result a “Snippet” which is going to get richer. These “rich snippets” helps in extracting and showing more useful information web pages.
Referred to as “snippets,” the information samples that sit beneath Google search results are about to become more in-depth. These “rich snippets” will extract more and display more useful information from relevant Web pages in order to give the user a better sense of the content they’ll receive upon clicking.
Rich snippets could be a turning point for the Semantic Web, since, for the first time, they create a powerful economic motivation for semantic markup. Rich snippets significantly enhance click-through rates. It means that anyone who has been doing SEO is now going to have to add microformats and RDFa to their toolkit.
Yeah, it is difficult for Google alone to provide those snippets on their own and therefore they hope that web publishers would help them in adopting microformats or RDFa standards to mark up their HTML and bring this structured data to the surface. With the help of this, now people don’t have to spend more time in Google and instead they could be spending more time on their web page where there could locate their information.
Hope Google’s second searchology would give great relief to all the Google users, searching for their required information.
